What new capacities could we learn to help us access the best thinking of everyone — of every age — to achieve these aspirations? The Intergenerational Leadership Exchange is a pioneering conversation between business, community, and educational leaders, social innovators, youth and elders. We will engage creative approaches to building bridges across generations. We will discover how learning with and from each other builds our capacity to act in service to our common future. You will benefit from the Intergenerational Leadership Exchange session whether your challenge is retaining diverse talent, addressing conflict across boundaries, or the increasing need for creativity and innovation. Michael Jones is a pianist, composer, writer, storyteller and leadership educator who has published two books - including Artful Leadership, Awakening the Commons of the Imagination - and recorded fifteen CD's of his original piano compositions. For many years he was Senior Associate with the MIT Dialogue Project and Dialogos facilitating programs on The Art of Thinking Together. Now through his music, speaking and writing he explores the deep synergies between leadership, artistry and collective learning. See www.pianoscapes.com.
Mary Stacey works with leadership teams at the intersection of strategy, leadership, and change. She helps clients clarify purpose, communicate their strategic agenda, and stay the course in the midst of change. Her initiatives build individual and organizational capacity to strengthen business results. Mary collaborates with artists to develop the imaginative and integrated leadership that essential in today's context. A case study of her results is in The Change Handbook: A Resource for Engaging Whole Systems (2007). Mary is the managing director of Context Management Consulting, based in Toronto.
Sera Thompson is a conversation host and entrepreneur. She facilitates and trains diverse groups in many contexts around the world, creating spaces for collaboration, innovation, and committed action. She recently spent 2 years living in Johannesburg, SA helping to lead Pioneers of Change - a global network of young practitioners of Social Change. She has been practicing Buddhism since her early teens and teaches meditation in the Shambhala Tradition.
Kalin Stacey studies Equity and Social Change at the University of Toronto. He has facilitated youth leadership and anti-racism conferences both in Canada and internationally. In 2006-07 he delivered in-school programs for the Centre for Social Justice and cycled across Alberta with the Sierra Youth Coalition to foster dialogue about the impact of the Tar Sands.
